Rick Muenz

Calgary Criminal Defence Lawyer

Calgary Criminal Defence Lawyer Rick Muenz has successfully defended criminal cases for over 30 years in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan and in the Yukon Territory.

Mr. Muenz has practiced exclusively criminal law since 1992 and has defended every type of charge from murder to mischief. Though he continues to take on all criminal cases, he currently focuses on sexual assault cases and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Calgary Law School in the Advanced Criminal Law Course on this topic for the last few years. During this time, Mr. Muenz has also been a volunteer and instructor at the Alberta Law Society Bar Admission Course and has lectured at the University of Calgary Law School. He has addressed the Canadian Bar Association Criminal Law Subsection and has assisted with the new recruit class of the Calgary Police Service in preparing for dealing with cases.

Mr. Muenz was invited to be a guest lecturer to the 2019 Annual Educational Conference of the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench Justices in 2019 and to 2018 Provincial Court of Alberta Judges Conference in 2018.

Mr. Muenz has appeared and successfully defended his clients in all levels of court in Canada including:
